Say Hello!

Welcome to Bitty City Players!

We at Bitty City Players are awed and inspired by the children we work with, and strive always to give our students the joyful and creative learning experiences we wish we had every day as children.

Executive Director Caroline Patterson received her B.A. from Duke University after studying Theater and Elementary Education. She has taught extensively in preschool and early elementary classrooms.

Caroline met co-founder Danielle Cohn while working on a theater production. They quickly realized their mutual love of working with children using kinetic and artistic activities, their shared focus on social-emotional literacy, and their shared belief that kids were capable of incredible things if given the right tools and scaffolding. In 2011 they began the exciting work of creating Bitty City Players.
Based upon her experiences in the classroom, both as a teacher and a student, Caroline knows that engaging in hands-on, brains-on, put-your-whole-self-in activities is the best way to connect to kids and get them excited about what they're learning.

We at Bitty City Players deeply believe that dramatic play and sensory work are the most effective educational tools with young children and we incorporate both into our innovative curricula. Learn more about Bitty Cities and our current transition to a nonprofit organization here.

We want to provide programming that is accessible. We want Bitty City to be a resource for young children of NYC and their families and teachers, especially those who have limited access to enrichment opportunities.
